One of unique feature for Giveness Japan is promoting eco-friendly products with many companies, artists and NPOs.

One of products is stone paper which is using only stone 80 % and plastic 20 %. It doesn't use any natural wood resources. It's simply good for saving woods. But actually there is much more positive effect for environment. During the production process, factory doesn't need to use any of chemicals which are required for regular paper making. Statistics show that stone paper making requires about 50% less energy for production.

This kind of technology will save our planet and save our kids in the future.

Traditional paper is using wood pulp which is creating many environmenmtal isuues for the world.

"In order to produce a metric ton of traditional wood pulp papers, an average of four metric tons of wood chips is utilized, which is the equivalent of felling approximately 23 large trees. Even so, this is merely the start of a long list of environmental costs of using traditional wood pulp paper.

Of the trees harvested globally for industrial uses, nearly half goes to pulp and paper production and, the demand for wood pulp remains insatiable. In light of the continuing trends, it has been estimated that only 5% of all tropical forests will remain by mid-century to the detriment of biodiversity. Even at the present, less than 20% of the world's original forest cover remains intact, and much of what does remain is already threatened by commercial logging.

Although about 30% of the world's wood pulp supply now comes from tree farms, by and large forest-harvested timber still dominates supply. In truth, even if artificial tree plantations have taken some pressure off deforestation, tree farms host about 90% fewer animal species than the natural forests that preceded them. Indeed, 1/3 of the world's biodiversity has been irrevocably lost since 1970."

I got this paper and used for ink jet printer to print photos. It's just fine quality as well as traditional paper. I was looking for this paper on Amazon.com, but I haven't found it yet. If anyone can find it, please tell us about it. This is a very innovative and eco-friendly products. We can share this to the world. We can certainly save our mothe planet with this.

A couple days ago, I menetioned that Spring has come to Tokyo a month earlier and therre is not enough snow fall in the north of Japan this year. But just one night last night, there was about 50-70 cm, equivalent to about 2-3 feet, of snow in the north of Japan and it's still snowing right now. We expect another 50-70 cm of snow in one day. Something's wrong in everywhere. Is it because of El Nino in Winter and La Nina in Summer?

Once I was living in Wisconsin for about 5 years or more. I loved cold weather myself. Once in a while, temprature gets as low as 20 or 30 degree below zero. My old lemon car always got engine failure and gave me headache because of it. It was a severe weather, but I still loved and enjoyed it.

One day, I had a very important exam to take in Madison, Wisconsin. It was about 3 hours drinve from where I used lived. But it was a historically cold on the day. My lemen of course didn't move at all.

Make a long story short, one of my good friends gave up his work and let me use his car. And I could take exam and it effected all my education and carreer later on. I don't forget how much his help meant to me and how I thanked him. It's something like Giving and Sharing mind, he has.

Well, thanks for reading my blog, but that's it for now. Someday I'll continue about this again..

Sneezing all day long

It's very sad. Spring has come and a lot of pollon fly everywhere. Something is different this year. Just right across the street from my home, there is a cherry tree and it's already open 80%, about one month eariler than regular years. Spring came a month earlier in Tokyo.

In the north, there is not enough snow fall on the mountains and it will make a problem of water supply shortage in farm land. Same kind of things are happening in all over the place. We got to do something.

Anyway, I stay home, take medicine and sleep early. That's the best way to pass time right now.
