I know some might argue this takes money away from charities on Giveness and I am sure they are correct. I am sure Amazon takes refunds into account when they calculate commissions each month. But I think knowing you will get the lowest price on an item for the next 30 days is a good incentive to buy more things from Amazon in the future, which will then create more commissions for charities.

Between Amazon's free shipping on most items over $25 and the 30 day price guarantee, along with a portion of your purchase going to a charity of your choice, how can you not think of making your next purchase at Amazon via the Giveness site.

Be selfish and feel good about it

Sitting on my right should is little angel Jeremy saying "You should do something good for somebody, why don't you make a donation to charity." Well making a donation to charity would make me feel good, but that doesn't seem like enough motivation to make me go through with it. I could scratch an itch and I would feel good too. Then the little devil Jeremy sitting on my left shoulder says "Hey the new Chimaira cd just came out yesterday." Oooh, that would make me feel good, and buying a cd is just a few clicks away.

Giveness.com is the perfect solution to my dilema. I can go to the site, select a non-profit and buy the new Chimaira cd for myself. A portion of the money I spend on the cd will be given to the non-profit. Now I feel good because I helped support a cause of my choice and I get a new cd for myself.
