Lets say you go to Amazon directly and put some items in your cart.  Then you remember, I want the commission on these items to go to charity.  So you browse to giveness.com select a charity and go to Amazon.  The items are still in your cart from before, but this is the problem!  Because you went directly to Amazon and put the items in your cart they will NOT earn commission.  You must make sure that you add all the items to the cart after you have browsed to Amazon by ...

Amazon now has a MP3 download section, and best of all the MP3s are DRM free!  This means any MP3 I buy from Amazon can be played on any device I wish to play it on, from my IPod to my XBox 360.  If you buy your MP3s from Amazon through Giveness, your selected charity will receive a 20% commission.  This commission rate will last through the end of the year, at which point it will go down to 10%, which is still a great commission rate.

I keep being surprised at the things you can buy on Amazon that will generate commissions for my favorite charity.  Here is what I have found now: Amazon pays 6% commissions on Amazon gift certificates.  An Amazon gift certificate is the perfect gift for anyone.  They can be sent via email, an e-card or on paper through the mail. I just realized I can purchase magazine subscriptions on Amazon.  I found some of the magazines I like: American Woodworker and Guitar World.  They even had my wifes favorite magazine, Cooking Light.  What will I find next?!?

Several people have mentioned that it has been a while since my last blog, well you asked for it...I saw an article on digg.com about this crazy item on Amazon.  It is a replica of a vehicle from Star Wars.  It goes for $20k (that would generate some sweet commission for some charity wouldn't it).  I tried to recomend it on Giveness but couldn't.  Some third party products are tricky to find through Giveness.
